Our end-to-end process
At Solarpark Energy, we manage your commercial solar carport project from design and funding through to construction and operation. We’ll develop a bespoke solution to meet your specific site needs and energy-saving goals and take care of the planning and grid connection applications, so there’s minimal hassle for you.
Assessment
First, we carry out a desktop feasibility study of your site so we can provide a high-level assessment of your car park’s suitability for a solar carport system. We’ll consider size, location, shading, topography, layout and orientation, and whether EV charging can be integrated.
By providing us with your electricity usage, half-hourly data and cost per kWh we’ll estimate system size and output, and the anticipated electricity cost and carbon emission savings. We’ll also advise on planning permission, grid connection and the p/kW PPA price your business will pay for the renewable energy you consume.
A detailed site survey will give us a better understanding, so we can identify any challenges to overcome, such as shading issues or ground condition. We’ll then fully assess your solar carport project and provide a detailed report so you can make an informed decision.
Development
We coordinate all pre-design technical surveys and manage the necessary planning application and DNO approval process with the local authority and the Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
After obtaining planning permission and acquiring a grid connection, our experts will produce a final, detailed solar carport design for your car park, structural drawings and a construction delivery plan in readiness for commencing installation in a timely manner.
Construction
With the solar carport system now designed, fully funded and all planning and DNO approvals obtained, Solarpark Energy’s dedicated delivery team will manage the construction, testing, commissioning, all in line with the agreed timeline.
We apply our best-in-class project delivery systems and practices to ensure the solar carport installation is built safely. efficiently and to the highest quality standards, in compliance with all UK standards and local authority regulations. By adopting a phased approach during construction of your solar carport, we can minimise disruption to your daily operations and car park accessibility.
